Experts recommend changing the oil and oil filter in your vehicle by the oil monitor index used on most new vehicles or at recommended intervals. If you are not using synthetic oil it is still recommended to change the oil and oil filter every 3 months or 3,000 miles, which ever is first. On synthetic oil it is recommended to be changed every 5 months or 5,000 miles, which ever comes first. It’s an essential way to maximize engine protection.
